Challenge aborted – staying in Ceuta overnight

As many of you will know, the Herkules was towed to Ceuta early this morning after severe weather meant that the spanish coastguard were called to assist the rowers . Challenge aborted

This morning the Herkules had to call the challenge off due to the severe weather conditions being experienced. They were picked up by a Spanish rescue vessel at about 0800 local time and both are now safe and well in Ceuta.

They’re off…

Sigurd and Julian departed this morning at just after 0830 local time. Hundreds of friends, family and well wishers saw them off from the Med Rowing Club. Follow their progress by clicking on “Where we are”.

Still waiting

As you will all have noticed the weather is playing havoc. Still waiting for the opportunity to get going. Only a few more weeks left in the window.

Charity Ladies Night

Herkules is ready to go – waiting for the right wind to get going.

The Herkules is at Queensway Quay marina undergoing the last tests. The team are waiting for easterly winds to set in in order to leave. Should be soon now…
